XML

Extensible Markup Language, a data storage & transmission lanuage that has become something of a buzz word. XML is fairly easy for humans to read and is self-describing, but in comparison to other data formats it can be large, especially as data is surrounded by XML tags. Still, XML has become very popular for uses such as configuration files, interfaces for website services and RSS feeds.
