IDE

Integrated Development Environment. An application that is used to design software. An IDE has many more features than a simple text editor. For example, in some IDE's, where it applies, you can drag widgets into place to form a GUI, as opposed to having to hand-code this in a text editor (which is also supported by an IDE).
